Can
I bring food into the lab?
Food and drinks are NOT allowed in the lab. You need to finish any food
before entering.
There is a table to the left just inside the door. If you wish, you
can place it there and pick it up on your way out.
  We
can see what goes on
Can anyone use the lab there or only
people in the College of Natural, Applied and Health Sciences?
At the current
time students can use our lab that are enrolled in any major at Kean
University.
Do you have ChemSketch there?
Yes. On all the computers in T217 & T219.
Location on the computers??
On the desktop is an icon called ‘Menu’ (it is a yellow
star)-double click on it. Thne double click on the folder called ‘Other’.
You will see the ChemSketch program there.
Do you have MathLAB there?
Yes – but only on 3 computers (#10, 11 &13 – window
wall at the far end)
The class that uses it is taught in B206 but there are classes in that
room a lot. It is on these 3 computers as a backup location in case
B206 is occupied. The professor whose class uses it had 3 licenses available
for us to install it here.

I’m taking CPS1031 or CPS1032 and
I need to download the data files for those classes. Where can I find
these files?
By using the anonymous FTP server that is on the Computer Science Department’s
computer called ‘EVE’.
Using an FTP client (such as the one which can be found under ‘SSHClient’
on our Start/Program Menu in T217, T219, HH221-HH224), go to the following
sites:

I'm having trouble opening attachments from my email
accounts, how do I do it?
You should be able to open attachments sent to your Kean Email Account
(cougar) without a problem. If you are having problems with that, contact
the Office of Computer Services at 908-737-6000. If you are using Yahoo,
Hotmail or Gmail and trying to open attachments (while you are in the
NAHS [T217/T219] Computer Lab) and having problems,
this GuideSheet
(DOC file) may help you in recognizing what steps you may encounter.
I lost something and I think I left it in either T217
or T219, who should I contact?
Come to the T217 Lab Staff station in the front of the room or ask
for the Lab Manager. Describe the item you are looking for and where
you think you left it. The lab staff will check to see if anything
has been turned in fitting that description. Bring your student ID.
You will sign the logbook signifying that you picked up the item.
A staff member will record your student ID number in the log as well.
If the lab has closed for the evening, our policy is to call campus
police at the end of the day if any pocketbook and or keys have been
left in the lab - we ask them to pick up those items from us before
we close for the evening. So, for those items, if it is after hours,
contact campus police(908-737-4800). We may contact campus police
with other large items as well.
For other items(books, USB,s etc...) , stop by or call us the next
day we are open. Our lab staff desk number is 908-737-3498.
