Software (Nelson)
Maintained by my colleague Charles Nelson, this page provides links to several different types of software. Most are free, though those that are not are clearly marked.
Open Office
Open Office is a suite of free programs, including a word processor, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, and several other common applications. While doing so requires a couple of extra steps, its files can be saved in formats readable by Microsoft Office.
Academic Freeware
This site, maintained by Steve Froemming, lists freeware that is particularly useful for students and teachers.
Office 2.0 Database
This site contains a thorough list of freeware. Most of it seems to be for PCs, though some may be for Macs.
Essential Freeware for the PC user
