General Membership Meetings
General Membership meetings serve three purposes:
To provide information to the General Membership
as determined by the Executive Board.
To vote on financial appropriations presented by
the Executive Board.
To provide feedback to the Executive Board of
the concerns of the part time and non-traditional students and or the Kean University community.
The General Membership meetings will start promptly
at the designated time and will cover all of the
information that is presented in the Agenda. The Agenda
is provided by the Executive Board prior to the start of
the meeting.
The General Membership meeting usually has five parts:
The Welcome and Formalities – includes
the approval of minutes from previous meetings, role
call and the welcoming and swearing in of new
members.
Guest Speaker – is a non-CPTS Member who
has been invited to speak at a General Membership
meeting.
Officers Report – is where each of the
Executive Board officers present the information
that pertains to their particular job function.
New and Old Business – is where the
presentation of proposals for financial
appropriations are made and other business not
previously concluded.
Comments and Questions – is where all
General Members of the CPTS can voice questions or
concerns that were not otherwise covered in the
agenda.
Roberts Rules are to be used when any CPTS
specific rule is not present. “Robert’s Rules of Order”
are a series of rules and protocols for handling the
operations in a Parliamentary session of government.
