Dr. Diane Stephanie Bloom joins the Department of Elementary and Bilingual Education as an assistant professor. Bloom has served as an assistant professor, as well as an advisor and coordinator, in the Department of Elementary, Middle School and Secondary Education at the Kean-Ocean campus in Toms River, N.J.

She previously served as the assistant dean, as well as the director of student teaching and certification, for the College of Education at Monmouth University.  She has been a teacher, school district administrator, and director of statewide writing assessment for the New Jersey State Department of Education. She is responsible for developing the "New Jersey Registered Holistic Scoring Method for Writing Assessment".

She holds an Ed.D. from Rutgers – The State University of New Jersey, an M.A. from Rowan University and a B.S. from University of Minnesota.
