Victor Esquilin M.S.W., L.C.S.W. – Director
Mr. Esquilin is the Director of the Kean Counseling Center and Office of Disability Services. He received his Masters Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University and is also a graduate of the Manhattan School for Psychoanalysis. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey, Certified Social Worker in New York, and a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers. Mr. Esquilin’s many years at Kean University and extensive prior experience in community mental health contribute to his specialization in the areas of: men’s issues with emphasis on men of color, depression and interpersonal relationships.
Maria Pitts – Administrative Assistant
Mrs. Pitts is the Administrative Assistant and coordinator of services for the Office of Disability Services. She has worked at Kean University for 16 years and is especially attuned to the needs of the disabled student population. Her knowledge of the Kean University Community is essential in facilitating access to resources for our students. Her friendly attitude, kind demeanor, and approachability help to create a warm environment valued by all students.
Jim Rodgers – Adaptive Services Specialist
Mr. Rodgers (Jim) is currently the Adaptive Services Specialist at Ocean County College. Jim will now be available to students with disabilities who have chosen to complete their Kean University degrees at the Ocean County College campus. Jim has worked for the Center for Academic Services/Disability Services at Ocean County College since 2001. In his role at Ocean County College, Jim is directly involved with students who are in need of training in assistive technology. He also interacts daily with faculty, administrators, and maintenance personnel in ensuring that students have physical access to all parts of the campus. For the past three years, Jim has been the Assistive Technology Coordinator for the Educational Technology Training Center (ETTC) at the Ocean County Vocational School. His responsibilities include the training of teachers, administrators, parents, and students on the use of assistive technology. Jim is a member of the New Jersey Association on Higher Education And Disability (AHEAD) and is actively involved with the Ocean County Commission for Individuals with Disabilities.
