To date the new online
referral system has not been instituted. In the interim ewe well have the
following procedure when a student's
attendance and /or performance is poor , in spite of routine academic and
professorial support. 1. Determine if a student is in the Athletic, EEO or Passport Program. 2. If so, notify Dr. Alsina (737-3708), the appropriate EEO Counselor(737-3130) or Ms. Holderman (737-0360), respectively. You man utilize their standard reporting forms that appear on pages 61,62,63 of you manual, but I recommend calling them for amore immediate result. 3. If the student is not in one of those programs, notify me with the following information: a) student name b) student ID number c) number and dates of absences d) level of performance e) specific information about missing or inadequate work. I will follow up through the General Education Office. As the student information sheets state, students have NO unexcused absences in College Composition ( although we do not hold the to that standard entirely). A third unexcused absence in a 3 contact hour per week format or a second unexcused absence in a 6 contact hour per week format is cause for concern. Use your own judgment, of course. |
