Important Notes
- Make copies of the student information sheet and distribute it to your
students during the first class period. Please emphasize important points
for them.
- All students and faculty should obtain Kean e-mail addresses to
receive campus-wide communications. The form can be duplicated as needed
and it must be hand delivered to Campus School South (CSS) room 113 for
processing. Please distribute the forms during the first two weeks of
class. (Note: Even through your roster in KeanWISE will show the
students to have Kean e-mail addresses, those e-mail addresses will only
be activated after each student submits the form.
- Submit a hard copy of your syllabus to me (in addition to the one you
submit to Ms. Coleman) by the end of the second week of
class. If you are teaching 1031/32 or 1033/34, please incorporate
the dates of your portfolio review and the grade-related value of
student attendance on your syllabus.
- Review assessment procedures carefully so there will be consistency in
the administering of the assessment materials and your syllabus will
include appropriate readings for the course imbedded mid-course and
end-course essays.
- Please make copies of the Grammar Workshop Schedule/Referral Form and
keep them nearby when you are grading papers. The workshops are open to
all students in 1030, 1031/32 and 1033/34. They have been under utilized
in the past, while our students demonstrated the need for focused grammar
instruction. The self-contained workshops are targeted group
instructional sessions conducted by an English Professor.
- Your class rosters are posted on KeanWise. If you are new to Kean, you
should select KeanWISE on the Kean University home page and input your
login (Username) and password (PIN) information. If you are a continuing
professor, but you have forgotten your password, you may contact the
Office of Computer and Information Services (OCIS) at (908) 737-6000 to
have it reset. Passwords can only be reset during normal business hours
(Monday-Friday 8:30AM-4:00PM). Passwords must be six to nine characters in
length and must include both letters and numbers. KeanWISE is case
sensitive. At the end of the semester all grade submissions are done
electronically on KeanWISE.
