What a Lie

It happened 2 years ago, when my nephew Renzo was in the fifth grade and my wife was working in the same school.

Vanessa, Renzo’s teacher, one morning found my wife in the corridor and told her, “I want to express my sympathy for the loss of your mother,” and my wife replied, “ Probably there is a mistake, because my mother is fine.” The teacher said, “Last week Renzo couldn’t do his homework, because he was attending his grandmother's funeral.”

After school, my wife went to Renzo’s house and spoke with her sister and explained the situation, and when they confronted Renzo he said, “I did it because I forgot to do my homework”.

Renzo’s mother spoke with him and taught him about facing responsibility. She punished him with 4 weeks of no T.V. and no play station #2.
