My Happy Year 2003

How much new information was created in 2003? Everyday different things occurred, for instance, earthquakes in Turkey, Iraq war or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Although 2003 had a lot of terrible things, it also had many nice memories. How about your last year, did you have an exciting or a boring year? I had a happy year in 2003.Why did I have a happy last year? Because I went back to Taiwan for three months. I cherish the memory of my family and friends.

Last summer on vacation my parents took my two sisters and me to the seashore of Northern Taiwan. They were the best four days, so I will never forget them. Although the sun was extremely hot, the sea was very cool, which made our swimming very pleasant. We saw mountains rising above the plains here and there. There were numerous nice and beautiful trees, grasses and flowers along the roadside. We talked, sang, and ate different place traditions food. Thus, we enjoyed ourselves very much. Beyond the golden sands stretched the deep-blue sea. For these four days, the seashore made us feel very much relaxed and excited. It was a wonderful experience and an unforgettable travel.

Another happy thing was I met my high school friends. We hadn’t met each other for almost six years; thus, I was so excited to meet all my friends. When we saw everybody we were excited and hugged each other. We chatted on a lot of things when we were high school students, such as when we went swimming happily together at the riverside and on and off we were caught in the rain shower not having enough time to take shelter. We had a good time in our high school. Until now these interesting and sweet memories still make me feel happy. All these always remind me of the happy days of my high school life.

In brief, the whole year I lived in America in 2003. Consequently, I had bad things more than good things because to come here I must confront everything. For example, I spoke poor English, had country shock and was homesick. Also, if I had any problems, I had to accomplish it because nobody can help me, only I can help myself. Even if my bad things were more than the good things, I think that is my challenge. Moreover, I had a wonderful summer vacation with my parents at the seashore of Northern Taiwan and met all my friends last year. All in all, those were my good memories of last summer’s vacation.
