"Almost a Woman" was a movie about a young lady who had to leave her homeland to go to the United States. Her little brother had a problem with his leg and the doctor in her country, Puerto Rico, wanted to cut his leg off, and her mother had to travel to the United States with her siblings.

She had a lot of hard times because she didn’t know how to speak English. Her mother had to go to work in a factory to feed her and her other siblings. She had a big challenge, she had to learn English as soon as possible and she did it by working hard but she did it. She graduated from high school in the United States and then went to a dancing and acting school. Her family was very proud of her and so was her mother. She missed her father a lot because he was in Puerto Rico and couldn’t be with her, but she always remembered him.

In my opinion, I liked this movie because in one way or another, I’m familiar with that situation. I experienced the same as her. It was a very interesting movie.
