ACCENTS
The Intercultural Club of Kean University publishes Accents Magazine. We try to encourage students to show their creative side and share a part of themselves. We help them publish the work that they are so proud of so they can show it to their friends and family.

A Note From the Chief Editor
Being part of the Intercultural Club was a tremendous experience that I will always remember. It has been a pleasure to meet the talented students that our club has. I am sure that all of you will continue the good job that we have done with our club and magazine. I would like to thank Dr. Nelson, our advisor, for guiding me in the editing process of the magazine, and thanks to all the members of Intercultural Club: our Fall president, Teesha Sayeed, who helped to organize the club even at the last minute of her graduation; Xiao Xian Cheng, our Fall vice-president and Spring president, for her dedication in every meeting; Geovanna Fiallos, our secretary, for keeping all our records and helping with the editing of the essays; and our treasurer Dan Lin for keeping the budget in it place. Also, I would like to thank Mathilde Saget and Danie Saget for editing the essays in this edition. I cannot say goodbye without giving thanks to my professor, Mrs. Patricia O’Connor, who came to our meetings and always gave us brilliant ideas for our club, and also my thanks go to my first English professor at Kean University, Mrs. Marcia Weissberg, who encouraged me to be part of this wonderful club and magazine. To my husband, Carlos Pión, I am especially grateful for his support, endless patience, and vision in re-designing the concept of our magazine. Many thanks to all the members of the Student Organization for helping us with our goal of giving voice to the students of Kean University. Thank you to everyone who is supporting us by reading this magazine.
