My work is an exploration of the fleeting effects of atmospheric conditions on the land and on water.  The exchange between terrain, climate, temperature and the elements is constant, sometimes consistent and often times transforming by the moment.  Printing in multiple layers evokes reflection and haze, while the white
of the paper offers glimpses of light.

I explore an aspect of printmaking not often considered; the possibility
of a fluid, painterly relief print. By reorienting and cropping my hand carved woodblocks and carborundum plates, I layer both transparent and opaque inks to develop my imagery.  Unlike traditional editioned works each print is unique.  Subject matter is not predetermined. The printing process is intuitive without knowledge of the finished work.  It is in the actual printing and overprinting that the imagery is developed and refined.
