Crash, 2011, Pastel and Acrylic mediums.
My art has been influenced by the Abstract Expressionism movement (Action painting), particularly by Franz Kline and Willem De Kooning. What is necessary in my work is the sense of continual change. I have no loyalty to a particular medium, whether I paint, make a video or use the sound. Even acrylics are chosen for its ability to mimic other mediums. Moreover this sense of a continual formation is achieved through the depiction of motion and its inverse static; loss or gain. As long as there is a direct connection to the mediums the visual statement follows. Here the sense of the immediate is paramount.
