Currently researching the constitutional assumption of war powers by
Abraham Lincoln. My working thesis is to investigate the
constitutionality of Lincoln's exercise of these powers and (1)
whether articles of impeachment should have been presented and (2) why
the Congress allowed his unfettered restriction of civil liberties and
(3) can the end result justify the means in a nation of laws.
