Services

The services offered by International Student Services include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Reinstatement to F-1 visa status • U.S. Institutional transfers • Social Security card application assistance • Curricular Practical Training work authorization (co-op education internships) • Post-completion Optional Practical Training • Advising for students on post-graduation practical training  (services provided until OPT completed) • Economic Hardships: assistance in off-campus employment • Assistance in bringing F-2 dependents and counseling • Program assistance (e.g., academic delays, financial issues) • Change of major, academic level, address (update on I-20) • Travel and re-entry advice and authorization • Website to assist International students with immigration laws • Orientation information package for F-1 students • Newsletters providing information relevant to current International students • Issue letters for International students regarding graduation invitations • Assistance in obtaining social security number or driver's license, etc. • Informational and application packages for F-1 International students for on-campus employment, program extension, and transfers, etc. • Special instructional brochures on all services provided by the ISS office • Specific E-mail account intst@kean.edu to serve International students.
