Welcome to the Kean Counseling Center (KCC)
Congratulations
on choosing Kean University for your college experience. College
can be a wonderful exciting and rewarding time in your life;
however, new experiences can bring about unanticipated stress
and anxiety. Should this happen to you, the Kean Counseling
Center is a potential resource. The services that we offer
may include individual and group counseling, drug and alcohol
counseling and education, and psychiatric consultation.
You do not need to be in crisis or dealing with a serious problem to seek counseling. Students come to the counseling center with a variety of concerns. Some of these concerns may include the following:
- Roommate and friendship conflicts
- Homesickness
- Academic difficulties
- Depression
- Self esteem
- Anxiety
- Family problems
- Drug and alcohol concerns
- Eating Disorder concerns
- Sexual assault or date rape
- Identity concerns
We encourage you to stop by the Kean Counseling Center with any concerns you may have. We are located in Downs Hall room 127. Our telephone number is (908) 737-4850. The Counseling Center is open Monday through Friday 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Evening sessions can be arranged from September through May by request. Appointments can be made by telephone or in person.
