The Master of Arts in Fine Arts Education, Studio Option, is designed primarily for individuals interested in advanced work in studio arts. Opportunities will be provided for exploration in a range of studio areas but emphasis will be placed upon advanced study in a creative field in which the student had demonstrated prior competency.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In addition to the University's admission requirements:

  • 30 hours of art courses on the undergraduate level
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Departmental portfolio interview

 

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • 33 credits
  • Graduate exhibition

REQUIRED ART EDUCATION COURSES 9credits

  • FA 5000 Studies in the Creative Process 3
  • FA 5998 Advanced Seminar: Research in Fine Arts Education I (exhibition seminars) 3
  • FA 5999 Advanced Seminar: Research in Fine Arts Education II (exhibition seminar) 3

SPECIALIZATION 15 credits

  • Five courses within the chosen areas of Fine Arts

GENERAL ELECTIVES 9 credits

  • Three courses selected with advisement
