PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The primary goal of the Post-Master’s Program in Business and Industry Counseling is to enhance the student’s training in counseling or psychology with a concentration of study and skill development in the workplace. Upon completion of the recommendation courses, students may request and receive a Certificate of Completion from the Office of Graduate Studies.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the University’s admission requirements:
- · Master’s degree in Counseling or Psychology or a closely-related field
- · Two letters of recommendation
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
- · 21 credits
- · Students meet with the Program Coordinator to determine satisfaction of prerequisite competencies
- · Practicum and Internship
SPECIALIZED COURSES – 9 credits
- PSY 5690 Employee Assistance Programs 3 credits
- CED 5501 Introduction to Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling 3 credits
- MGS 5010 Business Policy and Administration 3 credits
ELECTIVE COURSES – 6 credits (taken with advisement)
- PSY 5430 Psychological Dimensions of Human Resource Development 3 credits
- PSY 5720 Advanced Psychological Counseling Techniques 3 credits
