PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Graduate Certification Program for School Nursing provides information and skills for the successful implementation and management of school health programs. Emphasis is on prevention of illness, promotion and maintenance of physical and environmental health and health education. We expect that graduates of the program will provide leadership in the development, implementation and management of school health programs.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In addition to the University’s admission requirements:

  • A current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of New Jersey
  • Current professional liability insurance
  • Baccalaureate degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Presentation of evidence of having completed a basic physical assessment course with practicum, or completion of NURS 3010.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • 30 credit hours
  • GPA of 3.0

TOTAL of 27-30 semester hours to complete certificate
