TRACK A

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This is a program leading to certification as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities for those individuals who receive primary certification through Special education employment and attendance at an Alternate Route Center established by the State of New Jersey.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In addition to the University’s admission requirements:

  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75
  • Certificate of Eligibility (CE) in an instructional area

Note: Applicants who cannot document employment as a special education teacher in an alternate route program at time of admission will have to submit a copy of a standard teaching certificate to the Office of Graduate Student Services in order to be eligible for standard Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification. Completion of this program without also completing the requirements for a standard teaching certificate will not result in certification as Teacher of Students with Disabilities.

This is a program leading to certification as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities for those individuals who hold a standard certificate for teaching in the State of New Jersey.

  • Standard NJ teaching certificate
