A comfortable, supportive environment provides the security which enables the young child to form trusting relationships outside the home. At the Kean Child Care Center each child is encouraged to gain confidence in an understanding of himself as a person and as part of a family and community. Ample opportunities are available for children to interact with and enjoy their peers. The center lays the foundation for the integrated curriculum that provides total learning; social, emotional, physical, intellectual and

creative. This ^life-oriented ̄ approach places the emphasis where it belongs-on the child, not on impersonal subject matter.

The Center is divided into age groups, each of which shares a self-contained classroom. A balanced program includes structured work periods, adequate time for developmental play, rest and a variety of art, music and social science experiences. The Center fosters the development of fundamental skills, both affective and cognitive, through active, age-appropriate, hands- on activities.
