Librarians provide library orientations and instruction sessions for students as a way to help them acquire the skills necessary for conducting research and writing papers. These instruction sessions are most effective when the librarian is able to plan the session with a particular class assignment in mind, so that emphasis may be placed on the electronic and print resources that are most relevant for the project.
