Welcome to the Department of Mathematics at Kean University. We are located in Science building along with the Department of Biology, Department of Chemistry and Physics, and the Department of Geology and Meteorology.
 
Chaired by Dr. Susan Hahn, the department consists of approximately 20 tenured or tenure-track professors and about 80 adjunct professors. Current research strengths within the department include algebra, differential equations, applied mathematics, operation research, mathematical history, logic, statistics and probability, and scientific computing.

The Department offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Bachelor of Arts, (B.A.), Master of Science (M.S.), and Master of Arts (M.A.). Bachelor's degree options include Pure Mathematics, Teacher certification, Statistics, Teacher of students with disabilities, and elementary education. Master's degree options include
M.A. in Mathematics Education, and Master of Science in Computing, Statistics, and Mathematics.
