Maiorini and Ken Saloway, members of the Department of Management’s CIO Panel Discussion on April 7. The Department of Management hosted six chief information officers (CIO) for a panel discussion highlighting possible information technology (IT) careers for management majors, current and prospective demands for IT skills, the impact of outsourcing, and IT as it relates to supply chain management. Guest speakers included Joseph L. DeSiena, president of Consulting Services at Bardess Group, Ltd., the NJ SIM Foundation, and NJ Metro Chapter of the Association for Service Management International; Leif G. Maiorini, CIO of Civic Development Group and Millennium Teleservices; Ken Saloway, adjunct professor in the MSIS program and director of marketing for the IS Programs at Stevens Institute of Technology; Jim Knight, Global CIO/executive vice president at Chubb and Son Insurance Company; and Rick Carney, vice president, general manager and CIO for Melillo Consulting, Inc. All of the panel members provided insight into their respective fields.
