About Us
The Kean University Conservatory of Music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. Its 50 full and part-time faculty have superb performance and academic credentials. The Conservatory offers Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Music and Music Education, and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance with an Emphasis on Pedagogy. Its music education program has a very strong job placement record.

02.10.10 - Dr. Anthony Scelba, Department Chair, has returned from a ten-day trip to Austria where he presented a performance, masterclasses and round-table classes at the invitation of the Vorarlberg Music Conservatory (Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium), Feldkirch, for their Feldkircher Meisterklassen 2010 series. He was introduced as "one of the most important double bassists of the second half of the 20th century, whose career foreshadowed the current climate for professionals. He has been active in all areas of double bass development, performing as soloist, chamber musician, and with orchestra, composing, arranging, researching, writing, and teaching. "

11.20.09 - Christine Danelson, a Bachelor of Arts in Music student, wins first place in the 2009 Classical Singers Magazine Regional Competition. She will compete at the national level in May at the Marriott Marquis in New York City.

10.02.09 - Kenny Medina, a Bachelor of Arts in Music student, wins the 2009 Youth Concerto Competition hosted by the Hudson Symphony Orchestra. He will be the featured soloist for their annual concert on October 22, 2009 performing Darius Milhaud's Concerto for Percussion and Small Orchestra.
