Prerequisites for Admission to the Nursing Major
- Current RN license
- Minimum GPA as 2.0

Credit will be awarded for above
courses taken at the college level. Students must have received
a minimum grade of C (2.0) for the course to transfer-in.
Students
who do not meet prerequisite requirements may do one of the following:

Passing score on the psychology CLEP is 49.

Passing score on the sociology CLEP is 50.

Subject exams must be taken before earning
a total of 86 credits toward the degree (Kean and/or transfer
credit)

Science challenge exams are scheduled at least
once per semester. Students must register 1 month in advance
for the exam with the departmental secretary (908-737-3390).

There is a fee of $25 for each exam.

The Microbiology and Anatomy & Physiology
exams are prepared by the National League for Nursing and the
passing grade is 45. There are no study guides for these two
exams. Get a recent textbook and review it at a pace comfortable
for you.

The Chemistry Challenge Exam is prepared
by Kean’s Chemistry Department
