NATIONAL BOARD FOR EXAMINATION IN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY (NBCOT) EXAMINATION SCORES

The National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT®) is a not-for-profit credentialing agency that provides certification for the occupational therapy profession. NBCOT® serves the public interest by developing, administering, and continually reviewing a certification process that reflects current standards of competent practice in occupational therapy. According to NBCOT, the national average of successful first time test-takers is 85 percent. During the 2005, 2006, and 2007 academic years a total of 55 degrees in occupational therapy were conferred at Kean University. During those same academic years a total of 55 first time test-takers took the NBCOT exam and 46 successfully passed the exam at the first taking. This represents an 84% pass rate at Kean University for first time test-takers.

** Kean University has a 100 percent pass rate when including students who have taken the examination a second time.
