EDUCATION Many faculty members have earned or are currently working towards their doctoral degrees. EQUALITY All students follow the same schedule and are taught by all faculty members. EXPERTISE Faculty members, most of whom continue their therapeutic practice, bring diverse clinical and teaching expertise to the program. Up to the minute clinical skills and reasoning are brought directly the student in our classrooms. FIELDWORK An integral part of the occupational therapy education process, our level one fieldwork is scheduled throughout two entire semesters, rather than condensed to two weeks. This design allows the student time to process and integrate information acquired. FOUNDATION Our curriculum, based on a developmental model, provides students with a strong theoretical foundation upon which practice is integrated. HISTORY Our thirty-year history has produced hundreds of quality, competent practitioners and researchers. INTERACTION A comprehensive approach to program evaluation, used in a systematic, continuous manner, allows us to identify potential concerns and to make timely revisions and or additions to our curriculum and department policies. MATCHMAKING The student is carefully matched to their level I and II fieldwork sites. Abilities, personality, learning style, location and facility needs are all taken into account. RESEARCH Linking education with real-world practice, the occupational therapy department is committed to the research agenda and to developing the evidence base needed to provide quality services. SUCCESS A retention policy/program is designed and maintained to help each student successfully complete the program. SUPPORT The student is provided with personal academic advisement throughout the OT program.
