10 Reasons to Live on Campus

  1. Get better grades
Living on campus gives students the ability to live with their study group and within a short walk to the library. Who wouldn’t do well in class?
  2. Develop your independence
Residential living allows you to develop your own character, take responsibility for your actions and discover yourself.
  3. Hassle-free billing
With off campus living, there is rent, gas, electricity, water, cable, internet and much more. While living on campus, there are no hidden fees and all of these utilities and more are included in your housing rate.
  4. Make college life easier
The convenience of living right on campus is priceless. You have everything right at your finger tips and within a short walk so there is no excuse for not getting to class.
  5. Make friends and feel connected
Make strong connections to the people you meet in the residence halls and at Kean University because both will be a part of your life for years to come.
  6. Broaden your horizons
Living on campus you will be able to meet and experience different cultures right in the residence halls, so make sure you get to know all your new neighbors and don’t be afraid to try new things.
  7. Build leadership skills
Get involved in all of the clubs and organizations that are on campus so you can strengthen your leadership skills before you tackle the job market.
  8. Know what’s happening
Be sure to stay up-to-date on events that are taking place on campus. Many departments host activities so it is a great place to see faculty and classmates out of the classroom.
  9. Pursue your interests
Be apart of programs that are centered around students. The Office of Residential Student Services hosts programs with resident students in mind so take part in them and meet new people!
  10. Feel at home
Familiarize yourself with the surroundings and make Kean University as comfortable to walk around as your childhood home. Let Kean become your new "home sweet home".
