Move-Ins for First Year (Freshmen) and Transfers
Move-ins will take place on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. through Downs Hall. Please enter the campus via the Green Lane entrance and park any vehicles in the Vaughn-Eames parking lot. Students with last names that begin with A - L will be permitted to move-in from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Students with the last names that begin with M - Z will be permitted to move-in from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Office of Residential Student Services strongly encourages students to bring hand-trucks for move-ins. The Office of Residential Student Services will provide a limit number of moving carts.
Move-Ins for Upper-Class Students
Move-ins will take place on
Friday, August 31, 2012 between
8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. through their respective buildings. Please enter the campus via the Morris Avenue entrance and park the cars in the Vaughn Eames parking lot.
Students with the last names that begin with L - Z will be
permitted to move in from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Students with the last names that begin with A - K will be
permitted to move in from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Office of Residential Student Services strongly encourages students to bring hand-trucks for move-ins. The Office of Residential Student Services will provide a limit number of moving carts.
Late Arrivals
Students are strongly encouraged to arrive during the designated hours. In the event you must arrive after that time, please be advised that you must check in through the residence hall in which you will reside. The community center will be staffed and available for your check-in until 10:00 p.m. Students will not be permitted to check in after 10:00 p.m.
First Year students and Transfers arriving after Tuesday, August 28, 2012 must contact us in writing to let us know of their plans. First Year students and Transfers Students who fail to communicate with the Office of Residential Student Services and/or move in by Thursday, August 30th will forfeit their housing space.
Upperclassman arriving after Friday, August 31, 2012 must contact us in writing to let us know of their plans. Upperclassman students who fail to communicate with the Office of Residential Student Services and/or move in by Monday, September 3rd will forfeit their housing space.
As stated in the Residence Hall Contract, residents must move-in within 48 hours of opening day or they will forfeit their housing. For your convenience you could e-mail us at reslife@kean.edu.
