FALL 2014 Move-In Information

Move-Ins for First Year (Freshmen) and Transfers

Move-ins will take place on Wednesday, August 27, 2014.  Please enter the campus via the Morris Avenue entrance and park any vehicles in the Vaughn-Eames parking lot. The Office of Residential Student Services strongly encourages students to bring hand-trucks for move-ins. The Office of Residential Student Services will provide a limit number of moving carts through Vaughn-Eames.   

Move-Ins for Upper-Class Students

Upperclass Student Move-In

Move-ins will take place on Friday, August 29, 2014.. Please enter the campus via the Morris Avenue entrance and park the cars in the Vaughn Eames parking lot. The Office of Residential Student Services strongly encourages students to bring hand-trucks for move-ins.  The Office of Residential Student Services will provide a limit number of moving carts. 

Late Arrivals

Students are strongly encouraged to arrive during the designated hours.  In the event you must arrive after that time, please be advised that you must check in through the residence hall in which you will reside.  The community center will be staffed and available for your check-in until 10:00 p.m. Students will not be permitted to check in after 10:00 p.m.

First Year students and Transfers arriving after Wednesday, August 27, 2014 must contact us in writing to let us know of their plans. First Year students and Transfers Students who fail to communicate with the Office of Residential Student Services and/or move in by Thursday, August 29th will forfeit their housing space.

Upperclassman arriving after Friday, August 29, 2014 must contact us in writing to let us know of their plans.  Upperclassman students who fail to communicate with the Office of Residential Student Services and/or move in by Monday, September 2nd will forfeit their housing space. 

As stated in the Residence Hall Contract, residents must move-in within 48 hours of opening day or they will forfeit their housing.  For your convenience you could e-mail us at reslife@kean.edu.

Move-Ins check list

Before moving into the residence halls all students must have the following items completed:

  • Be registered for classes as a full time student (12 credits for undergraduates 9 credits for graduates)
  • Paid in full their University bill which includes: Housing, Tuition and Fees
  • Be registered with the University's Campus Alert System.
  • Has submitted proof of Meningitis Vaccination to Health Services
