Psychology/Psychiatric Rehabilitation intended and declared majors

        All students interested in the dual major of psychology /psychiatric rehabilitation should see Dr. Boyd-Jackson for advisement.  Any student with an overall 2.5 GPA may become an intended major, however, in or to become a declared major, you have to apply to this competitive program.  You may pick up an application from the psychology department.
        Please note that there are different guide sheets for students.  The guide sheet for Kean students are for students who became psychology/psychiatric rehabilitation intended or declared majors while enrolled at Kean University.  The guide sheet for MCC and UCC are for students who have earned an Associate Degree in Psychosocial Rehabilitation.  Interested students can pick up a curriculum guide sheet at anytime from a file outside of Dr. Boyd-Jackson's office door, J-300I or see the secretary in the department.

                                    at the Montclair Public Library. “Sister to Sister” is a mentorship program for teenage girls

                                    of African descent.

 

Artistic performances


April, 2005 -06
           Performed as a soloist with the Kean Dance Theatre annual concert.  The dance

                                    entitled "El Hogar de las Mujeres" is a dance celebrating mothers of civilization and the

                                    women of the world.

*Special Note


        Dr. Boyd-Jackson is the former president of NJABPSi. She is the former co-chair of Academic and Scientific Affairs Committee of NJPA.  She has a part-time private practice where she conducts psychotherapy with adolescence and adults.  She conducts individual, couple and group therapy. Dr. Boyd-Jackson specializes in work with individuals who have experienced trauma, adult children of alcoholics, depression, anxiety and women's groups. 
        Dr. Boyd-Jackson's professional work allows her to apply psychological principles and techniques which enhances her effectiveness in the classroom.
