Purpose:
Exploration of Spanish culture and civilization, grammar, history, literature,
and related areas. An excellent backgroud is provided for advanced professional
study and a variety of carreer choices. Increasingly, corporations and
professional organizations are seeking applicants who are skillful in the
use of language, and communication generally. Technical expertise alone
is not enough to ensure advancement or retention on the job. A language
degree or thorough of another will serve to:
1. Support the analytical
skills in the student's major areas though close attention to the form
and quality of ideas as they are found in that language.
2. Reinforce the writing
abilities of the students wishing to enter such fields as publishing, advertising,
sales, marketing, and management.
3. Provide a global approach
and understanding though study of each language and its literature and
culture.
