CHANGES IN NEW JERSEY<= /st1:place> ADMINISTRATIVE CODE

& TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT KEAN UNIVERSITY

 =

Changes in the New = Jersey Administrative Code in 2004 have affected certain grade levels and licenses= for teacher certification, as well as the passing scores required for teacher certification in the State of New Jersey. &nb= sp; These changes will, in turn, affect the teacher preparation programs= at Kean University.

Praxis Score= s

In April 2004, the New Jersey Board of Education approved new minimum passing scores on the Praxis II tests.  (See page 8.)   These new cut-off scores app= ly to anyone who is certified after September 2004.  If a Praxis test was taken prior to September 2004 and the score is below the new score and an application for certification is submitted after September 2004, the Praxis II test must be retaken and new passing score must be met.
