The College of Education requires that all professional internship students submit a photocopy of their score report indicating a passing score achieved on the Praxis II test required for their area of certification as defined above BEFORE a student may perform the professional internship. The copy of the ETS score report must be submitted to the Teaching Performance Center in Willis 110 no later than August 15 for individuals scheduled to perform their internship in the fall semester and by November 1 for students scheduled to perform their internship in the upcoming spring semester. A student will be withdrawn from his/her placement and unable to participate in the professional internship if this submission requirement is not met. *Students seeking additional certifications/endorsements with the Teacher of Students w/Disabilities (TSD) endorsement will be required to take and pass the Praxis II exam for their content area certification in order to meet the COE policy and to apply for the Teacher of Students w/Disabilities certification; for example: TSD/K-12 Math candidates are required to pass Praxis II #0061 Mathematics Content Knowledge test to perform the internship, TSD/P-3 candidates are required to pass #0022 Early Childhood Content Knowledge in order to student teach, etc. Students seeking K-5/5-8 certifications with their TSD endorsement will be required to take and pass both the Elementary Education Content Knowledge Praxis II Test AND the Praxis II Content Exam for their content area BEFORE being allowed to perform the professional internship.

THE COE PRAXIS TESTING REQUIREMENT MAY BE DIFFERENT FROM THE REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSURE BY THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY. Please consult the New Jersey Department of Education website http://www.nj.gov/njded/educators/license/1112.htm for the required test for licensure.
