| HOW TO APPLY FOR YOUR TEACHER CERTIFICATION |
Students who are performing an internship will receive a NJ State Department of Education Application for Certification in their packet of information which is obtained at the orientation held before the internship semester.
The process to complete the application, pay the fees for certification and submit the application will also be presented at the orientation.
Application Deadlines
For May Completers/Certification Candidates - March 31
For August Completers/Certification Candidates - March 31
For December Completers/Certification Candidates - December 1
How to apply for your certification:
Fully complete the NJ State Department of Education Application for Certification (Incomplete applications will not be processed)
Have the application notarized*. (DO NOT sign the application until you are in front of the notary.)
Go to Student Accounting and pay the required fees for your certification(s). (Refer to the payment table attached to application form in your orientation packet.) You must tell Student Accounting that the payment is for your teacher certification. Obtain a receipt for your payment. Attach your receipt to your application.
Attach a copy of your passing Praxis II Score Report(s) to your application. (If you are applying for dual certification, then a copy of both passing score reports must be attached.)
For ESL and Bilingual students, attach a copy of ACTFL, OPI/WT results.
Bring all of the above materials to the Post-Baccalaureate/Teacher Certification Office in Willis Hall, Room 109.
