Directions for completing/submitting
Nomination for Outstanding Professional Intern
In recognition of successful completion of the professional internship semester, one outstanding professional intern will be selected annually for each of the following programs:
Bilingual Elementary/ESL
Early Childhood
Elementary, Undergraduate
Elementary Post Baccalaureate
Elementary Graduate
Fine Arts
Hearing Impaired
Music
Physical Education & Health
Secondary Education Undergraduate
Secondary Education Post Baccalaureate
Speech Pathology
Teacher of Handicapped/Teacher of Students w/Disabilities
Theatre & Speech
Criteria for Nomination as an Outstanding Professional Intern
Recommended grade point average:
Undergraduate: 3.5 GPA
Post Baccalaureate: 3.75 GPA
Graduate: 3.75 GPA
Successful completion of appropriate Praxis
Successful completion of professional internship during the semester of nomination
Letters of recommendation from cooperating teacher(s) AND the university supervisor
Directions to Nominate Outstanding Professional Intern
Complete application form including signatures. Form must be typed/word processed.
Request letters of recommendation from cooperating teacher(s) and university supervisor.
Obtain personal statement from Professional Intern.
Submit completed application, letters of recommendation and personal statement on or before December 15 for fall semester and April 1 for spring semester.

Please note:
Interviews may be required and/or submission of a professional portfolio
Awards will be presented and recognition given at the Annual Reception for Outstanding Professional Interns. This event is scheduled annually during mid-May.
