Weather & Environmental Hazards –
The Challenges of Awareness, Research, and Education in NJ

Friday, November 14, 2008

The Salvation Army has been responding to public needs at the time of disasters for more than a century. Today The New Jersey Division of The Salvation Army has vehicles used in responding to both natural and man-made disasters placed about the State. Staffed by trained volunteers, they are capable of providing everything from simple hydration to complete meal services to shelter support and management. Those interested in learning more about becoming a Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services Volunteer are invited to stop by the Salvation Army Canteen parked nearby on campus and visit with Salvation Army representatives.

Russ Hendrickson—Russ has been Emergency Disaster Services Manager for The New Jersey Division of The Salvation Army since 2001.

Scott Shepherd—Retired from “Corporate America,” Scott has been volunteering in the Emergency Disaster Services Program for the past seven years.
