A Lecturer is a full-time employee who teaches and provides student and learning support services during the assigned periods. Ten-month lecturers teach 30 credits per year; twelve-month lecturers teach 39 credits per year. The Lecturer holds a strong commitment to teaching; maintains office and advising hours for students; actively participates in the university community; and does related work as required. This is a non-tenure track position that may be renewed on an annual basis. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Courses may be taught at the Union campus and/or Kean Ocean in Toms River, New Jersey or other locations. All Lecturers may be required to teach General Education courses. Positions are effective for the fall semester.

Michael Graves College
School of Public Architecture
History of Architecture and Design – to teach undergraduate lecture courses and seminars about the history of Architecture, Design, Furniture and Art as components of the college’s five programs. Candidate will teach at the Union campus and non-teaching hours will be devoted to advising and providing other support services to students. The ideal candidate will contribute intellectually to the formation of a new professional program; seek external funding; participate in innovative teaching and curriculum development; and actively engage in professional organizations. A Master’s degree in History of Art and/or Architecture or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. Two years of previous teaching experience at the college level and two years of professional practice is preferred. This position may be offered in a half-time capacity.

Department of Counselor Education
Counseling – to teach courses in the CACREP accredited Master’s degree program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School options, plus Addictions and College Counseling. Master’s degree in Counselor Education and Supervision or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. Doctorate degree in Counselor Education and Supervision (or meets 2013 CACREP “grandfathering” requirement); holds NJ-LPC or LCADC or equivalent; three to five years of post-degree clinical practice; and curriculum development, strong counselor identity and professional association involvement is preferred. Public Administration – to teach general areas of study in Public Administration with the ability to provide student services support. Specific responsibilities include developing, teaching and updating undergraduate courses in Public Administration. Additional duties will include the organization and supervision of student internships for undergraduate and graduate students. Master’s degree in Public Administration, Management, Public Policy or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. Marketing – to teach Marketing Research, International Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Strategy and other upper level marketing courses. There is an opportunity to teach in both the undergraduate and MBA programs. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include student advisement, ongoing program assessment work and assisting with the development and growth of the program. Courses will primarily be taught at Kean Ocean. Global Fitness Practicum Lecturer – to teach professional preparation courses in either Exercise Science or Recreation. Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Recreation or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. Supervisory experience is preferred. The candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with practicum sites. School of Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy - to teach courses related to healthcare administration/professional issues; to develop programmatic offerings within the DPT healthcare business and management curricular thread; to develop, implement and assess student learning objectives; and perform related faculty responsibilities as required. This is a developing program that teaches entry-level physical therapy students during the fall, spring and summer terms. Master’s degree in a related field; a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level; and current licensure as a physical therapist, with eligibility for licensure in the State of New Jersey is required. A Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program in Physical Therapy; ten years of professional experience actively practicing in the profession; and a minimum of five years of experience as a healthcare executive is preferred. Candidate must have related experience in physical therapy education and demonstrate the experience needed to contribute to the educational and scholarly development of the program.
