Anticipated Tenure-Track Faculty Positions 2020-2021

All open faculty positions are ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignments at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective for the fall 2020 semester, unless otherwise indicated. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations.
All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. All positions are subject to availability of funds, due to financial exigencies.
College of Business and Public Management
School of Accounting and Finance
Accounting (Multiple Assistant/Associate Positions) – to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses including, but not limited to: Financial, Managerial, Intermediate and Advanced Accounting; Cost Accounting; Federal Income Tax; Auditing; and Forensic Accounting at the Union and Ocean campuses and provide student advisement. Candidate must have an on-going agenda for research and publication; perform outreach to the professional practice community; provide vision and guidance in accounting education and in the profession; and support the University’s AACSB accreditation initiative.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree in Accounting or a related field; teaching experience; and a strong interest in research is required. A Doctorate degree from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution is preferred. ABD considered with completion date by September 1, 2020. Relevant practical accounting experience is desired. CPA license is a plus.
Finance (Two Positions) - to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses including, but not limited to: Corporate Finance; International Business Finance; Preparation & Analysis Financial Statements; Investments; Derivatives; Financial Institutions and Markets; and Working Capital Management at the Union and Ocean campuses and provide student advisement. Candidate must have an on-going agenda for research and publication; perform outreach to the professional community; provide vision and guidance in finance education and in the profession; and support the University’s AACSB accreditation initiative.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree in Finance or a related field; teaching experience; and a strong interest in research is required. A Doctorate degree from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution is preferred. ABD considered with completion date by September 1, 2020. Relevant practical finance experience is desired.

Nathan Weiss Graduate College
School of Physical Therapy
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program (Twelve-month, Clinical Assistant Professor – Two Positions) – the DPT program educates, develops and supports aspiring doctors of physical therapy in their quest to become skilled clinicians and develop rewarding careers working in a dynamic clinical practice environment. Faculty responsibilities performed during the twelve-month period include, but are not limited to: teaching within the orthopedics, neurologic, cardiopulmonary and/or other foundational clinical courses within the DPT curriculum; collaborating with other faculty to develop, evaluate and deliver entry-level physical therapy content; developing and participating in scholarship; providing student academic support, including student advisement; maintaining office hours; and working collaboratively with core faculty, administrators, the Graduate College Dean, Enrollment Services and other departments within the University. Teaching in other areas will also be expected dependent upon program needs, training and clinical experience. Faculty may apply for release time for research (UFRI, RTR), students partnering with faculty (SpF) as well as other research opportunities available through external grants and special programs.
Qualifications: Ph.D. or its equivalent (ABD candidates with completion by September 1, 2020 are encouraged to apply); or the minimum of a clinical doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) and board certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in one or more of the following areas of physical therapy: geriatrics, orthopedics, pediatrics, sports or women’s health; previous academic experience including a record of scholarship and service to the profession; teaching experience; and a minimum of three years of clinical experience is required. Candidates must be license-eligible in the State of New Jersey. Content expertise in orthopedics, neurologic and/or cardiopulmonary physical therapy is required.
