Anticipated Ten-Month Tenure-Track Faculty Positions 2019-2020

All open faculty positions are ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignments at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective September 1, 2019, unless otherwise indicated. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Courses are taught at the Union campus but some positions may include assignments at Kean Ocean in Toms River, New Jersey or other locations.
All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. All positions are subject to availability of funds, due to financial exigencies.
College of Business and Public Management
School of Accounting and Finance
Accounting (Two Assistant/Associate Positions) – to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses including, but not limited to: Auditing; Principles, Intermediate and Advanced Accounting; Cost Accounting; and Forensic Accounting at the Union and Ocean campuses. Candidate must have an on-going agenda for research and publication; perform outreach to the professional practice community; provide vision and guidance in the area of accounting education and the profession; and support the University’s AACSB accreditation initiative.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree in Accounting or a related field is required, preferably from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution. ABD considered with completion date by September 1, 2019. Teaching experience is also required, as is a strong interest in research. Relevant practical accounting experience is desired. CPA license is a plus.

Criminal Justice (Cybersecurity – Crime Analysis) – to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses supporting criminal justice and computer science studies related to cybersecurity, cybercrime and crime analysis. In addition to teaching, faculty responsibilities include research, student advisement and program assessment and growth.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree from an accredited institution in criminal justice, criminology or a related field with specialization(s) in cybersecurity, cybercrime or crime analysis. School of Psychology
Psychology – to teach psychology courses in support of the undergraduate and graduate programs in psychology. Candidate will teach at the Union campus and non-teaching hours will be devoted to research, advising and other support services to students. The ability to teach courses in marriage and family therapy is required. Teaching responsibilities include evening hours.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field; previous teaching at the post-secondary level; and eligibility for MFT licensure in New Jersey is required. Candidate must also be an American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Clinical member and Approved Supervisor or have a minimum of five years of post-licensure experience.

School of Natural Sciences
Forensic Science – to teach undergraduate courses within a new forensic science option such as the Survey of Forensic Science; Crime Scene Investigation; Forensic Criminology; Forensic Lab Techniques; as well as other courses in either the biological sciences or chemistry. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: course and program assessment, updating the curriculum, developing relationships with graduate programs and employers for our graduates and expanding our internship network. Duties include academic advising of biology and chemistry majors with the forensic option.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree in Criminology, Forensic Science, Forensic Biology, Forensic Chemistry or a related field; evidence of undergraduate teaching experience, research and/or field experience in forensic science; and peer-reviewed scholarly contribution to the discipline is required.

Michael Graves College
School of Public Architecture
Architecture – to teach graduate studio and lecture courses within the professional architecture design program. Areas of specialty include building design, urban design, building technology, building systems and professional practice. Candidate will teach at the Union campus and non-teaching hours will be devoted to advising and providing other support services to students. The ideal candidate will contribute intellectually to the formation of this new professional program by developing curriculum; developing a research and/or creative scholarship program that includes refereed publications, scholarly presentations and grantsmanship appropriate to an assistant academic level; seeking external funding; participating in innovative teaching and curriculum development; and actively engaging in professional organizations.
Qualifications: Terminal degree in Architecture or a related field is required or its equivalent achieved through substantial professional practice. A minimum of two years of previous teaching experience at the college level or three years of professional business practice experience and a proven record of academic scholarship is preferred. Professional registration; NCARB certification; AIA membership; LEED AP credentials; and both hand and digital representational skills are highly desired.

Nathan Weiss Graduate College
Department of Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy – to teach masters-level courses on general OT content and make valuable contributions as Kean expands programs to include an entry-level OTD program.

Department of Graduate Social Work *Revised*
Social Work – to teach Masters-level courses including, but not limited to: Research; Program Evaluation; Trauma; Psychopathology; Comfort Care; and Clinical Practice. The Master of Social Work (MSW) program’s specialization is direct clinical practice. Counseling (Two Positions) – one position is primarily for the Counseling & Supervision Ph.D. program: teaching, dissertation advising and conducting research. Speech-Language Pathology – to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses that deal with the nature, identification, assessment and treatment of communication sciences and disorders across the lifespan, including course work in our clinical doctorate (SLPD) program; to supervise clinical practica; provide advisement; and perform all other duties associated with university faculty positions.
