Following the announcement by President Dawood Farahi, Ph.D., that 2020 will be his last year as president, the Kean University Board of Trustees initiated a search process to select the University’s next president. The search firm of Storbeck Search & Associates is working with a search committee comprised of trustees, faculty, alumni, supporters and students to establish search parameters and proceed through the process of ultimately selecting the University’s next leader. The process is consistent with that of Kean’s peer institutions and has included many opportunities for members of the University community and others to participate. Updates about the process will be posted here. Please return often to learn more about the selection of Kean’s 18th leader.
The Presidential Search Committee has been working diligently since its inception on the very important assignment of identifying top candidates to potentially serve as the next president of Kean University.
It is an honor and a pleasure to serve as the chair of this committee, and to work alongside such talented and dedicated members of the Kean community on this task.
While the process continues, I am delighted to share the news that interest in the position has been extensive, attracting more than 100+ candidates from positions throughout the state, the country and around the world. The vetting process to date has been a thorough one, and as a group we have worked collaboratively and thoughtfully on candidate reviews with the goal of forwarding talented and capable finalists to the Board of Trustees for consideration.
The Search Committee expects to complete its phase of the search process soon and make its recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
