Tips for a Successful Spring 2021 Semester
- Take the training. Review the Cougars Care Pledge and the Student Health Training presentation and submit the Health Screening to confirm your participation. This training is required.
- Get the app. Download the #CampusClear app on Google Play or the App Store and begin using it every day you’re on campus to protect the entire community. You can also access it via the website. It takes just a few seconds to report any symptoms or determine if you are “Good to Go.” If you’re sick, stay home.
- Check KeanWISE. Confirm faculty members’ office hours as well as the location, date and time of your face-to-face or hybrid classes using KeanWISE. Note: Some room assignments may have changed so be sure to double check your schedule before arriving on campus.
- Leave extra time for parking. The Vaughn-Eames parking lot remains closed due to COVID-19 testing until further notice. There is plenty of parking elsewhere on campus. Review the parking map here.
- Find your Kean ID. Everyone needs to display their IDs at all times while on campus. If you need a new ID, visit the Greek Lounge in the Miron Student Center from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. You can also pick up an ID card holder and a lanyard at the front desks of Kean Hall or the Miron Student Center.
- MASK UP! Everyone must wear a face covering over both nose and mouth when inside a building, inside any classroom, or within six feet of another person anywhere on campus. Need a mask? Stop by the front desks of Kean Hall or Miron Student Center.
- Follow the Cougar paws. The University placed cougar paws in hallways, classrooms and labs indicating where you can stand or sit. Follow the paws to maintain social distancing. The student occupancy limit is posted in each classroom and lab. There are also new signs marking the entrances and exits of buildings to avoid congestion. Don’t be the one going the wrong direction.
- Visit the Cougar Restart Guide. Find resources for academic support, registration, financial aid, career services, campus life, health and safety and more. All student services are being offered virtually with additional resources available on campus. You can even reserve a private study space in the Learning Commons.
- Ask for help. Faculty and staff members are here to help you succeed. Don’t be shy about asking for assistance. The One Stop Service Center is available by email at regme@kean.edu and by phone at (908) 73-REGME to help with registration, your student record and financial aid.
- Climb Higher Together. The University’s administration, faculty and staff have worked tirelessly to prepare for in-person instruction. But everyone needs time to adjust to new health and safety guidelines and campus protocols. Be patient with your fellow Cougars. Together we will climb higher and emerge from this pandemic stronger than ever before.
