Due to the forecast of strong storms across the region, the University will have an early dismissal today, Monday, May 16, at 3 p.m. at all Kean USA campuses. Offices will close at 3 p.m. No activities will take place after 3 p.m. Essential personnel should report to work as required.

Spring 2022 Move-Out Information

Spring 2022 Hall Closing

The residence halls will close for the semester on Wednesday, May 11th at 6:00 PM.

Spring Move-out appointments can be scheduled between May 3, 2022 and May 11, 2022. Students must schedule their move-out appointment within 24 hours of their last final exam, and should make travel and pick-up arrangements in advance.

During the move-out appointment, students will meet with their RA for the final room inspection and return their keys. All students will receive a final inspection sheet that must be signed by all residents of the suite. Students are responsible for cleaning all shared areas of your suite for the final inspection, as well as cleaning their side of the bedroom. The RA will be collecting keys, making sure that all personal belongings are out, and checking for damages. Any items left in the room will be discarded, and the student will be charged for any garbage removal.

Spring Extensions & Summer Housing Requests

We recognize that some students may require on-campus accommodations after the residence halls close on May 11th. To apply, log into the housing portal, and select Summer 2022 Housing Application. Eligible students must be in good financial standing with no holds on their student accounts. The application will be available beginning on Friday, April 22, 2022 and will close on Friday, April 29, 2022 at noon.

Please note, The Office of Residential Student Services will review all requests on a case-by-case basis for extenuating circumstances only. Approved students will be notified of their summer assignment along with a date and time to move out by Monday, May 2nd. Students that are approved for an extension will be charged a rate of $47.78 per night.

Summer Housing Requests

Students that are enrolled in summer sessions can apply for summer housing which will be located in Burch Hall. Summer Session I begins Tuesday, May 24th. Summer Session II begins Tuesday, July 5th. Housing will be available for students during the duration of the entire term applied for, as long as they are registered for their respective summer classes. You can expect a housing charge of $47.78 per night. Students are expected to fulfill the full balance and must be cleared by Student Accounting before moving in.
