Winter Weather Announcement

All classes and activities at Kean Ocean will continue to be conducted remotely through Sunday, March 1, due to ongoing power issues.

This remote schedule applies only to Kean Ocean. Kean’s main campus in Union and Kean Skylands will operate as normal. 

Only essential personnel should report in person for work at Kean Ocean during this time. Employees with questions about their status should consult their supervisor.

Asian Studies

 Study the rich history, culture, and political influence of all Asia. 

Kean Professor Xurong Kong instructs Asian Studies class

The Asian Studies program at Kean is an academic minor that any student can take in conjunction with their major. Students can also actively join one of the Asian cultural clubs, participate in cultural events on campus, take language courses, or study abroad for a semester in China.

Graduates with an Asian Studies background have an informed, global perspective, as well as regional expertise, which are sought out by employers in a wide range of professions including business, government, international companies, and nonprofit organizations. As cultural specialists they can also find work in libraries and museums, media groups, or language education.
