The Pleasure of Your Company: The Power and Politics of Victorian Dining
Kean University and Liberty Hall Museum will collaborate on a new exhibit, The Pleasure of Your Company: The Power and Politics of Victorian Dining, exploring the life of Lucinetta (Lucy) Halsted Kean, one of the most-powerful women in Washington D.C., during the early 20th Century. The exhibit will be on display at Liberty Hall Museum beginning in May and continuing through 2008
Grandparent’s Day

Bring your grandparents for an old fashion ice cream social. Make a craft together, enjoy ice cream and play some games.

Victorian Luncheon
September 20
Step back in time and experience the art of Victorian dining with an elegant five-course luncheon. Immerse yourself in Victorian hospitality where Lucy Halstead Kean hosted the greatest luminaries of the 19th century.
Time: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Price: $60 per person
Reservations required. Formal Attire Suggested.
A Day in the 19th Century - Union Township Bicentennial Event
Saturday, September 27
Liberty Hall Museum will take part in Union Township’s Bicentennial by hosting three events celebrating the 18th, 19th and 20th century. Liberty Hall will bring these centuries to life by featuring historical re-enactors, interactive activities, displays and talks on special aspects of Union’s rich history.
Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesday Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea is served every Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the glass-enclosed porch overlooking the formal English gardens. The menu consists of a selection of sandwiches, pastries, scones and clotted cream, jams and choice of two teas. Guests interested in touring the grounds must arrive by 1 p.m. A short introductory film begins at 1:45 p.m. with tea promptly at 2 p.m.
Time: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Price: $30 per person ($27 for Liberty Hall Members) and includes a house tour
