2026-2027 FAFSA Filing for Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027

The 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available!  You must file the FAFSA annually to be considered for financial aid each academic year. Please note that the Kean University FAFSA priority filing date for 2026-2027 is March 1, 2026. To begin the FAFSA filing process, students and their families will need:

• An FSA ID: one for the student and, if needed, one for their “contributor” (parents for dependent students or spouse, if applicable, for independent students) to electronically sign the FAFSA form
• Social Security number
• Alien Registration number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
• 2024 Federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned
• Bank statements and records of investments, if applicable
• Records of untaxed income, if applicable

NJ Dreamers must complete the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application (NJAFAA) to be considered for state financial aid. Complete the NJAFAA if:

• You live in New Jersey
• Are not eligible for the FAFSA due to your citizenship status
• Attended a New Jersey high school for at least three years
• Graduated from a New Jersey high school or received the equivalent of a high school diploma in New Jersey
• Are able to file an affidavit stating that you have filed an application to legalize your immigration status or will file an application as soon as you are eligible to do so
