Registrar Resources for Faculty
Welcome!
The resources on this page are intended to assist faculty members with completing processes coordinated through the Office of the Registrar.
We welcome your feedback and suggestions for future resources. Please be patient as we work to develop and update resources.
Self-Service Requisite Waivers and Student Petitions
Designated faculty and staff have the ability to approve requisite waivers and student petitions for registration in Faculty Self-Service.
Requisite Waivers
A course requisite waiver is issued by the approved academic authority to provide an exemption or permission to enroll in a course without meeting one or more of its prerequisites or corequisites. Prerequisites are courses or requirements that students must complete before they can enroll in another course (i.e.: a course at the same level or at a higher-level course), while corequisites are courses that must be taken concurrently with another course.
Please be aware that a course requisite waiver is specific to a course during registration and does not serve other purposes. This course requisite waiver in KeanWISE Self-Service is NOT used to provide a waiver of an academic program's degree requirements. A program requisite waiver is issued by the approved academic program authority to waive or substitute a program requirement. These program requisite waiver approvals must be sent to the Course Substitutions and Exceptions team of the Graduation Unit within the Office of the Registrar by emailing coursesubs@kean.edu.

Student Petitions
