Administrative Assessment

Housed within the Office of Accreditation and Assessment (OAA), Administrative Assessment supports Kean University's mission, goals and institutional priorities through the implementation of evaluation and improvement initiatives that foster a more timely, measurable and systematic assessment process.
OAA supports Kean University’s administrative units in fostering consistent outcomes assessment practices and continuous improvement through evidence-based decision-making. Through integrated planning for enhanced institutional effectiveness, OAA makes assessment more efficient and more useful to the institution, while maintaining a focus on data integrity and supporting student success in alignment with strategic goals and accreditation requirements.

Administrative Assessment - Important Dates
- The deadline to submit the 2025-2026 Annual Administrative Unit Assessment Report (Part A) is November 15, 2025.
- The deadline to submit the 2024-2025 Annual Administrative Unit Assessment Report (Part B) is June 30, 2026.
- Please note, if your unit is up for Program Review (2021-2026), you will submit the Program Review document by June 30, 2026 in lieu of the 2025-2026 Annual Administrative Assessment Report.
- Division Annual Assessment Results and Recommendations Reports for 2024-2025 are due by September 30, 2025. This report template can be found here: Executive Assessment Report AY 2024-2025.docx.
Administrative 5-Year Program Review
Kean University’s Five-Year Non-Academic Program Review is a formal process designed to evaluate the effectiveness of administrative units in supporting the University’s mission. Focused on continuous improvement, the review helps identify strengths, address challenges, and guide data-informed decisions around resource allocation and institutional effectiveness.
5-Year Program Review Report (Self-Study)
This document outlines the unit’s mission, vision, goals, and services, along with assessments of progress and plans for future growth. It also includes details on personnel, facilities, and resources needed to support continuous improvement and alignment with university priorities.
Program Review Timeline
September | VP informs unit directors to begin program review. |

October 31 | Director forms committee and submits review plan. |
June 30 | Program Review document and supporting data due to VP. |
September 30 | VP reviews and integrates findings into Annual Assessment Report. |
Implementation of Recommendations
The Division Leadership and unit coordinator will work with OAA to coordinate implementation and establish timelines for follow-up.
