General Education Mentors (GEMs)
General Education Mentors are students that have a strong academic foundation, knowledge of campus resources, and leadership skills. GEMs are peers establishing student relationships while maintaining professionalism inside and outside of the classroom.
GEMs are the first point of contact when engaging in the following School of General Studies events:
- Placement testing and pre-advisement events
- Registration Days
- New Student Orientation (NSO)
- Co-facilitating Transition to Kean classes
- One-on-One Peer Mentor meetings
- Safer/Sex and Student Wellness Workshops
- School of General Studies office and math lab
