Kean University to Shift to Remote Operations on Sunday, October 12

Kean University will shift to remote operations on Sunday, October 12, due to the State of Emergency declared across New Jersey in response to the forecasted nor’easter storm. All classes scheduled for Sunday on New Jersey campuses will move to remote instruction, and all in-person activities are canceled. 

Only essential personnel should report to work as required. Employees with questions should contact their supervisors for guidance. Keanu’s Kitchen on the Union campus will remain open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday to serve residential students.

Biography

Elizabeth Reddington is an applied linguist and language educator with over 15 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language. She holds an Ed.D. in applied linguistics from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her work involves applying conversation analysis in the study of professional practice, and she is particularly interested in examining classroom interaction to gain insight into relationships between teacher practices, student participation, and opportunities for language learning. Her single- and co-authored work has appeared in edited volumes and in journals such as Classroom DiscourseDiscourse & Communication, and Linguistics and Education. She is the editor, with Hansun Zhang Waring, of Communicating with the Public: Conversation Analytic Studies (Bloomsbury).
